HORMONE BALANCING strawberries & cream smoothie this morning ?
Not feeling my usual motivated self for a Monday morning thanks to the time of the month ? so trying to give my body a boost, balance my hormones … and hope my mind follows suit!
A simple smoothie of banana, frozen strawberries, vanilla protein & a Greek style dairy free yoghurt. Then I added 10g of maca powder to give it a boost ??
Maca is a plant from Peru & its root is ground to a powder for use as a superfood supplement. It has an earthy, nutty almost caramel taste, best hidden in creamy / vanilla / chocolate recipes. The benefits of maca are becoming more well known… 3 years ago buying it from Amazon shipped from abroad & now I’ve seen it in Aldi & Tesco.
Low in calories & high in vitamins & minerals like vitamin C, calcium, potassium & iron… you can add to porridge, smoothies, nice cream, brownies, lattes or yoghurt.
